Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a Slack webhook URL?
Go to your Slack workspace settings, navigate to Apps > Incoming Webhooks, create a new webhook, select your target channel, and copy the generated URL. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/
What is the secret key used for?
The secret key is used to verify webhook authenticity. LazyApply includes it in the X-Webhook-Signature header, allowing your server to validate that requests are genuinely from LazyApply and haven’t been tampered with.
Can I send different events to different channels?
Yes! You can create multiple webhook configurations with different event triggers. For example, send application submissions to Slack but rejections to email. Use our webhook routing feature in advanced settings.
How often are webhooks triggered?
Webhooks are triggered in real-time as events occur. LazyApply monitors application statuses every 5-15 minutes and fires webhooks immediately when changes are detected. You can adjust polling frequency in your account settings.
